The Dark Room | Redcliffe
30 April - 16 July
Welcome to The Dark Room – a space to play with light, shadows and storytelling!
Discover the development of the camera and the ways artists use photography to tell a story. Did you know the word photography is from the Greek words phōtós and graphé, which means drawing with light?
Early photographs were captured using light sensitive photographic film and paper. These photos were printed in rooms called darkrooms, because they needed to be almost completely dark to make the images emerge.
Visit The Dark Room at Redcliffe Art Gallery to create your own inspired patterns, shapes and stories.
Drop-in sessions, no bookings required.
Gallery is open Tues–Sat 10am–4pm
