This September, join herpetologist and wildlife photographer Steve Wilson at the Queensland Museum for the small group Scales & Tails Reptile Workshop Masterclass. This is an experience like no other, exploring the amazing diversity and incredible adaptations of reptiles. Experience first-hand how the Queensland Museum scientists identify different species.

Investigate some of Steve’s favourite reptiles, learn what makes them so special, where you can find them, and how to help conserve these ecologically significant animals. Using scientific tools such as microscopes and dichotomous keys, you will get the chance to identify preserved reptile specimens from the Queensland Museum collection with the help of museum staff. What species will you have?

Adults and children 12 years plus will enjoy this opportunity to learn more about reptiles in a hands-on, minds-on STEM activity. This activity is not suitable for children under 12 years due to program content and equipment used. Take part from September 24-29, 2020 with multiple sessions a day!

  • Spaces are limited and are only $35 per participant.
  • Session times: 10:00 -11:00 am, 11:30 – 12:30 pm
  • Age: Suitable for ages 12+. Children under 14yrs must be accompanied by an adult (no charge for the support person)
