Oktoberfest Brisbane

Update: POSTPONED TO 2022 – Well, this is the Wurst … and not the good kind …All our pretzels were crossed that this message would never see the light of day. But the way the crackling has crumbled, the unpredictability of these circumstances has caused us to make the toughest of decisions – to postpone The Only Oktoberfest Brisbane and The Only Oktoberfest Gold Coast until Oktober 2022.

Dust off your dirndl and strap into your lederhosen, Oktoberfest Brisbane is POSTPONED TO 2022.

With six huge festival days across two weekends, the bold tastes, sounds and spirit of one of the world’s most iconic festivals will transform the Brisbane Showgrounds, bringing together stein-raisers from across the country.

No matter which day you visit you can expect to take in the flutter of colour of swirling dirndls, the smell of warm, salty pretzels in the air, and to move to the beat of the legendary Oompah band… it will be like Munich to your ears!

You can treat your taste buds to a formidable feast of pretzels, pork knuckle, the best wurst, and of course traditionally-brewed world-class German Bier. Prost!

There’s so much fun to be had over two jam-packed weekends of spectacular live music and performances, endless activities for the kids, and an amazing atmosphere you won’t want to miss.

Friday & Saturday

Fridays and Saturdays have earned legendary status at Oktoberfest Brisbane with heightened spirits igniting the city with a famous Bavarian flair. The Bavarian Village is open from 12pm to Midnight giving you the opportunity to start early and stay late!

2021 sees Friday sessions kick starting at midday so you can make a real day and night of it! Work a half day then walk into a world of Bavarian festivities. Make sure you’ve donned your Lederhosen and Drindls ready for a night of fun – the ultimate way to herald in the weekend.

With an action-packed program across two weekends, Fridays and Saturdays are your chance to experience the very best of German culture (minus the jetlag).

On Sundays, loosen your lederhosen for a more laid-back festival experience and linger longer to stretch out your weekend! Sunday sessions at Oktoberfest Brisbane have never been better with the Bavarian Village open from 12pm to 8pm and all the entertainment favourites back for another day.

New to 2021,  is the introduction of more rides to the festival that everyone can enjoy for free all day! Now that’s a crowd pleaser! – all for the value packed entry ticket price of $25 when purchased online.

The humble Sunday session is a Brisbane tradition. End your weekend with a good “Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit”, meaning a toast to cheer and good times!

What’s on at Oktoberfest for Kids?

Just like in a real German Festival there’s lots to keep the kids entertained from the minute you enter. Sundays are the best days for families, as they have a relaxed and chilled out atmosphere. Oktoberfest has plenty of kid-friendly entertainment including singing and dancing plus fabulous yodelling and German dancers, always a favourite – the youngest dancer is only five. Kids can join in the Hat Dance or groove along to the Chicken Dance. Outside, there are rides, baby farm animals to pat, a real German-style puppet show with heaps of other fun thrown in, goal kicking, a photo wall, roaming musicians, fashion shows (with kids in them too) and lots more to be announced not to mention heaps of delicious food and drink for those hungry tummies.
