Embrace the vibrant traditions of the East as the Moreton Bay Lunar New Year returns to Caboolture for a spectacular family-friendly celebration marking the beginning of the Chinese New Year! Welcome in the Year of the Dragon on Saturday, February 17th 2024, at Caboolture Town Square.

What to Expect at the Moreton Bay Lunar New Year:

  • Traditional Music and Dance: Be captivated by enchanting performances featuring traditional Asian music and dance, including the mesmerizing Red Dragon Traditional Lion Dance, soulful Chinese Orchestra performances, a dazzling Magic show, a Drumming spectacular, and much more.
  • Traditional Asian Food: Indulge your taste buds in an Eat Street-style feast of tantalizing Asian flavors. Sample a variety of delectable dishes or savor your favorite Asian cuisine.
  • Workshops: Immerse yourself in the intricacies of Asian culture through engaging workshops designed to share and celebrate the essence of this vibrant heritage.
  • Firecracker Display: Experience the grand finale with a brilliant pyrotechnic firecracker display that promises to light up the night sky. Please note that the display might be loud, and some younger children and pets may find it startling.

Travel and Parking: Caboolture Town Square, situated on King Street in Caboolture, is the venue for the Moreton Bay Lunar New Year celebration. Accessible by the M1 with approximately a 45-minute drive from Brisbane, public transport options are available and within walking distance. The Caboolture train line is just a 2-minute walk from Caboolture Hub. Parking is available in the multi-storey car park off Hasking Street and CBD parking on James Street.
