Monkeys! A primate story
29 September 2018–28 January 2019
Go bananas for the world of primates at Queensland Museum’s latest exhibition, Monkeys! A Primate Story.
Featuring 60 spectacular taxidermy specimens and articulated skeletons, Monkeys! is a unique chance to discover a collection that’s been over two centuries in the making. Ranging from the tiny mouse lemur to the mighty gorilla, get to know our closest living relatives through this hands-on, immersive exhibition. Learn about our shared evolutionary history, and the weird and wonderful mammals that make up the primate family tree.
Many primate species are becoming endangered due to human activity, so it’s crucial we understand how a modern, changing world impacts on their environments. How can we ensure the survival of these magnificent creatures? And in turn, how have they adapted to urban environments and new challenges?
