Harvest Moon Festival | Strathpine

The Moon festival is one of the most important festivals for Southeast Asia Country such as China, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and Japan.
Enjoy performances, lantern contest, stalls, moon cake, fashion show, Asian food and more!
The festival celebrates the whole year of achievements and reunion of family by dances, music, food and colourful lanterns.
The festival celebrates three fundamental concepts that are closely connected, these are:
- Gathering, such as family and friends gather together or harvesting crops for the festival. It’s believed that the moon is brightest and roundest on this day which means family reunion.
- Thanksgiving, to give thanks for the harvest, or for harmonious unions
- Praying, on the day people asking for conceptual or material satisfaction
Moon Festival 2019 event shares traditional Asian Chinese culture and bring together both Southeast Asia communities and wider communities with the opportunity for bonding, remembrance and celebrating.
Brisbane North Chinese Association is going to host Moon Festival 2019 on 22nd of September in Pine River Park Strathpine under the support of MACS (Multicultural Association of Caboolture and Surrounds) and MBRC (Morton Bay Regional Council). Come along to Pine Rivers Park on Sunday 22 September from 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm for a day of fun!
