Carols & Brass | Brisbane
10 December, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Head along to ‘Carols & Brass’, a biennial presentation of Sir David Willcocks’ and John Rutter’s arrangements of beloved Christmas carols and beautifully arranged brass selections. Interspersed with chorales, solos and ensemble pieces from K. Lee Scott’s “Christmas Carol” and Handel’s “Messiah” and “Samson”, this evening is the ideal introduction to the Christmas season.
Nothing heralds the majesty of Christmas time like the brilliance and beauty of brass – enjoy a traditional Christmas experience that will brighten and warm your heart. Join in the singing of several carols and the triumphant Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah, which is bound to be an uplifting climax of the evening. The evening will be structured similarly to King’s College Cambridge’s “Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” and will conclude with the traditional choral setting of “In Dulci Jubilo”.
