Bunnies Galore at Brisbane Quarter
29 March, 2022 - 17 April, 2022
Three of the cutest creatures in the animal kingdom will be hopping into Brisbane Quarter just in time for Easter!
The behemoth bunnies are part of the Intrude art exhibit by Australian artist, Amanda Parer, who is installing three rabbits from her collection of world-travelling illuminated bunnies at Brisbane Quarter.
From 29 March to 17 April, have your cameras at the ready to snap up this fairy tale-like installation, before dining upstairs at some of the city’s most stylish restaurants, all inside the one inner-city precinct.
The giant rabbits have already hopped into major cities around the world and now it’s Brisbane’s turn to be invaded by these incredible giant inflatables.
Artist, Amanda Parer, said the use of the rabbits of Intrude was all about the animal’s contradictory nature.
“Rabbits represent fairy tales, childhood and furry innocence but to Australians, they are also a feral species, introduced by white settlers and leaving a trail of ecological destruction wherever they go, defying attempts at eradication,” she said.
“The artwork, like any good fairy tale, works from both the light and the dark. It has been fun to use these motifs to explore our relationship with the natural world.”
Visit the bunnies during opening hours* and dine at the wide range of Brisbane Quarter restaurants when you need a food break. Grab a hot chocolate and sweet treat from O’GaBee & Co Coffee, a flavour-packed Thai salad from Som Tum Bar for lunch, a refreshing bubble tea from Oiian Tea, or a delicious dining experience at Persone Italian, Phat Boy, Brisbane Phoenix and Tenya Japanese Restaurant and Bar.
Hop on down to see the bunnies at Brisbane Quarter from 29 March to 17 April, before they burrow their way to a new home.
