Brisbane Festival’s First Ever Drone Show
2 September, 2023 - 3 September, 2023
In a thrilling first for Brisbane Festival, a Dreamtime story 65,000 years in the making will be told in the skies above the Brisbane River with the world premiere of Nieergoo – Spirit of the Whale from 2 – 3 September 2023.
The 400-strong choreographed drone show takes flight across opening weekend, dazzling families with a First Nations-led celebration of culture and place including enormous native Australian animals. From vantage points at South Bank and Brisbane’s CBD, experience the three-dimensional multicolour drone show accompanied by stunning visuals and an original score by Brisbane’s Guy Webster.
The FREE performances above the Brisbane River highlight the new Neville Bonner Bridge and Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct and complement the Festival’s iconic event: Riverfire by
Australian Retirement Trust on Saturday 2 September.
