Eagle Junction State School is a co-educational school for Prep to Year 6. The school fosters a nurturing and supportive environment based on values of respect, acceptance, consideration, and honesty. Students are taught the importance of making a contribution, accepting responsibility for their actions, and co-operating to achieve greater success. The school encourages learning and growth through life experience, which helps build the student’s resilience.

Curriculum and Extracurricular activities offered:

Eagle Junction incorporates the Australian Curriculum for English, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography. Students are also taught the Arts, Technology, Studies of Society and Environment (SOSE), Health and Physical Education (HPE) and Japanese.

Students are encouraged to take part in sports to improve fitness and develop confidence. There are many sports available including Australian Rules football, cricket, hockey, netball, soccer, softball, tennis, touch football and water polo. Many of these are offered through Interschool sports, and can continue to District competition. Students also take part in cross country, track and field, and swimming.

The school also has a range of other activities that enhance enjoyment of the school year. Students can learn musical instruments, join the choir and take drama lessons. There’s also chess, debating, martial arts, leadership and Optiminds/Tournament of the Minds.

Facilities at Eagle Junction State School:

Eagle Junction State School has a Memorial library and a resource centre, along with a dedicated technology/science centre and music rooms. There is also an Assembly Hall which has seating capacity for more than 300 people. This is used for a range of activities in addition to the Prep-Year 3 and Year 4-6 assemblies.

The school has a friendship centre for students needing learning support. The centre provides a calm and supportive environment for them to work on basic and advanced academic achievements, as well as social interactions. Students focus on developing friendships and learn how to be part of a group in the school.

Eagle Junction State School has a 25m swimming pool, playing fields, a tennis court, cricket pitch, practice nets and netball courts.
