Curriculum and Extracurricular activities offered:

All students, from Prep to Year 6, are offered Italian language lessons.

The school has numerous sporting options. Prep – Year 2 students take part in athletics, ball skills, minor games and life-saving, as well as a motor skills/motor perception program. Students in Years 3-6 take part in athletics, soccer, tee ball, Oz Tag, water polo, lifesaving, and fitness skills.

Swimming is also available for Years 1-6 in Terms 1 and 4. Prep students participate in swimming for five weeks during Term 4.

Students can also partake in also tennis coaching, Go Sport for netball and soccer, and martial arts.

Bulimba State School has diverse musical options, with three choirs students can join – Junior Choir, Senior Choir and a Boys’ Choir. Students can also take lessons in guitar, violin, viola and cello.

Speech and Drama is also offer, as is Chess.

Facilities at Bulimba State School:

Outside School Hours Care (OSHC), providing high quality Before School Care, After School Care and Holiday Care to the school community. The program provides a variety of age appropriate activities in a safe, caring and friendly environment.

School library, with books able to be loaned out, and an online catalogue for quick navigation of resources.

Bulimba State School has excellence programs built around environmental values. Environmental sustainability is a core component of the school’s philosophy and mission. Kids Teaching Kids inspires students to learn about and care for their environment. The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program is offered to students in Years 4-6. The school also has an Environment Club.
