Brisbane Segway Tours for Kids | Families Magazine Review

This article shares some of the best Segway Tours around Brisbane for kids!

If you are looking for the best Brisbane segway tours, and you are particularly interested in knowing if your kids would enjoy the experience, check out our review of our recent experience of X-Wing Mini Segway Tours in the gorgeous Roma Street Parkland.

Brisbane Segway Tours

There are many companies that offer you the opportunity to ride a segway on a guided tour to see our beautiful city (more about them all below). For our experience we wanted one that the kids could enjoy in a place that was familiar to them. We chose X-Wing Mini Segway Tours as they offered a Groupon voucher where the kids got a 30 minute tour of Roma St Parkland for $16!

Brisbane Segway Tours

X-Wing Mini Segway Tours offer guided Brisbane segway tours of 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour and 75 minutes in duration in both South Bank Parklands and Roma St Parkland. We chose Roma St Parkland as the kids are very familiar with the area and we felt they would enjoy seeing the parkland and playgrounds on the segway.

We arrived 15 minutes prior on a Sunday morning for our ‘training’ and to sign all the paperwork.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Free one-on-one training before your tour begins
  • Tour includes professional Tour Guide
  • All safety equipment provided
  • Minimum 6 years of age
  • Participants under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian’s present to sign waiver to partake in tour

Whilst a picture speaks 1, 000 words, a video does even better than that….

Watch our X-Wing Mini Brisbane Segway Tours video:

Miss 6 and Master 8 had never ridden a segway before, but you can see from the video that they picked it up really quickly!

They thoroughly enjoyed their 30 minute segway tour with their guide. We sat in the cafe up the stairs from the ‘Celebration Lawn’ and sipped iced coffee (OH YES WE DID!)

Remember, you’ll need to book in advance to ensure your preferred day and time are available. They also offer gift vouchers that would make a fantastic Christmas or birthday present for that special someone! You can visit their website for more information here.

Kangaroo Segway Tours

Kangaroo Segway Tours offer guided Brisbane segway tours for ages 12+. They have short tours from 45 minutes to longer tours that run at 2 hours 15 minutes. They offer various routes that allow you to choose either: extreme hills and fun thrills, rip up Brisbane’s heartbreak hill (Ivory Lane) over The Story Bridge and take on Kangaroo Point Cliffs or they have easier beginner routes, more relaxed to suit your ability and desire. Prices start at $59 and you can visit their website for more information here.

Riverlife Segway Tours – No longer offers Segway Tours

Riverlife Segway Tours offer guided tours from 25 minutes up to 1  hour in duration. They require kids to be a minimum of 8 years old for their obstacle courses and 12 years old for tours. They offer tours that include the Story Bridge, South Bank, The Botanic Gardens and the Brisbane River. Prices start at $39 and you can visit their website for more information here.

Brisbane segway tours are the new way to see Brisbane and Families Magazine gives the concept a big double thumbs up! The kids had an absolute ball and we’ll be looking to do the South Bank one next!
