‘What’s On’- Australia Day – Gold Coast
What: Australia Day Celebrations, Southport
Where: Broadwater Parklands
When: 26 JANUARY @ 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Why: The Gold Coast comes out to celebrate Australia’s birthday with the only fireworks display in the City! This year the event moves to Broadwater Parklands as the Cultural Precinct takes shape, so jump on the G:link and head down to the Broadwater in the cool of the afternoon. Bring your appetite and indulge in the huge food truck feast or grab a snag from the barbecue. There’ll be Aussie sporting activities for the kids and some sweet tunes from local artists along the pier. The highlight of this celebration of our great nation will be a massive fireworks display not to be missed! Bring your picnic rug, get a great spot on the lawn to watch this feast for the eyes.
What: Australia Day at Benowa Tavern, Benowa
Where: Benowa Tavern
When: 26 JANUARY @ 10:00 AM – 10.00 PM
Why: Come join us on Australia Day in the sports bar for an all time Aussie event BBQ @ 4:00 in door cricket competition starts at 4:15 winner gets $250 must register at 3:00pm for a chance to play. Bikini waitresses at your service and meat raffles. We will have Aussie Rock music playing to kick start that long weekend.
What: Australia Day BBQ in the Park, Burleigh Heads
Where: Ed Hardy Park
When: 26 JANUARY @ 11:00 AM – 2.00 PM
Why: Get your family and friends together and bring your chairs along and get ready for a day of fun! The kids will be entertained and you can sit back and relax and listen to local entertainer Cory Hargraves singing Aussie Hits! Some tents will be provided for shade so get in early to get your spot. This year we will be having a Talent Quest from 10am – 11am for any up and coming locals to entertain you! If you wish to register for the Talent Quest, contact Alena at alenas@northburleighslsc.com.au. There are prizes to be won!
What: Australia Day Weekend, Dog & Parrot Tavern Robina
Where: Dog & Parrot Tavern
When: 26 JANUARY @ 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Why: Free jumping castle for the kids at lunch plus a Show bag with every kids meal. Kids eat free for dinner from 530pm and free kids entertainment from 6pm.
What: Australia Day at Parkwood Tavern
Where: Parkwood Tavern
When: 26 JANUARY @ 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Why: Plenty of activities for the whole family this Australia Day!!
We’ll have a jumping castle and $5 kids meals to distract the little ones while the big kids play in the sports bar! we will be bringing back one of our all time favourite aussie day sports- The Dunny Toss!! Then get your Pie face ready and enter our pie eating competition! or just enjoy one our mouth watering pies with an ice cold beer for just $19.90! Aussie Aussie Aussie!
