Ok it might not be the first venue to come to mind, but bear with us… Boggo Road Gaol throws open its doors for private parties and events, and you can choose from a catered option or go totally BYO!

Your booking (minimum group size of 30) includes consultation with an events coordinator, hire of one of the venue options onsite (cell block, gatehouse, yard etc.), and all the cleaning up after is included. There’s no need to bake a file into your 40th birthday cake – the lovely people at Boggo Road Gaol will happily release you when your time is up! The Ship Inn at South Bank

The Ship Inn at Southbank can cater for small groups and up to 200 guests in their dedicated function room. This beautiful historic pub, built in 1864, brings all the charming atmosphere with none of the rowdy distractions of poker machines, TVs or TAB; just good food, good views and good company.

You can usually pick the keys up in advance to decorate the venue, and most halls will have tables and chairs, toilets, kitchen facilities, room to dance and plenty of parking for your own private use.
